Getting to the Uffizi Gallery

The Uffizi Gallery is located in the heart of Florence, right next to Piazza della Signoria and its beautiful Palazzo Vecchio. The Uffizi sits in between Palazzo Vecchio and the Arno river, with a great view of Ponte Vecchio.

How to get to the Uffizi Gallery

You can arrive in Florence by air, car or train.

By airplane, you arrive at Florence’s Amerigo Vespucci airport, then you can take the shuttle bus “VOLA IN BUS” to the station of Santa Maria Novella or taxi.

By car, the closest parking lot is located under the Santa Maria Novella (SMN) train station.

If you arrive by train, you’ll arrive to the central Santa Maria Novella station.

Once you’re in Florence’s historical center, including the SMN train station, you can easily reach the Uffizi Gallery on foot in about 10 minutes or by taxi if you have any mobility issues.

By foot from the SMN train station, head down Via Cerretani to reach Piazza del Duomo, take Via Calzaiuoli to the right toward Piazza della Signoria. Once you face Palazzo Vecchio, head to its right side and at this corner between Palazzo Vecchio and the Loggia dei Lanzi, you’ll have arrived at the Uffizi Gallery. Entrances are on the left wing, ticket office to the right further down heading toward the Arno.
